Man Dies in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 21, 2019) – An off-duty Las Vegas police officer struck and killed a pedestrian Monday on South Decatur Boulevard near West Sahara Avenue.
The deadly crash happened around 10:30 p.m. According to reports, the off-duty officer was heading north on Decatur Boulevard in a white Dodge Challenger. At the same time, a 62-year-old man stepped off the curb and into traffic where the Challenger struck him.
In the investigation, police learned that the man was not in a crosswalk at the time. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later.
Meanwhile, the off-duty officer remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, who do not believe in impairment played a factor.
More on this crash is under investigation.
