DUI Pedestrian Crash Reported in Reno
RENO, NV (January 30, 2020) — A pedestrian suffered injuries after they were struck by a DUI driver on North Virginia and East 16th Street early Friday morning.
According to police, three unidentified pedestrians were walking around a construction zone around 2:30 a.m. There, one of the victims was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered non life-threatening injuries as a result of the impact. However, there has been no update on their current condition at this time.
Police later cited the three pedestrians for having not used a crosswalk. Officers also cited the 21-year-old driver for driving under the influence.
Reports detailed no further information pertaining to the incident, or the identities of the victims involved.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked on their initial investigation. However, the area has since reopened. Once available, more information will be released.
