Man Seriously Hurt in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 29, 2019) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when a motorcyclist struck him along 4th Street near King Street.

Around 7:34 a.m., the male motorcyclist struck the male pedestrian, San Francisco police spokesman Robert Rueca said. Medics subsequently arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the rider remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigations.

As a result of the crash, investigators shut down 4th Street between Berry and King streets.

Drivers are more distracted than ever with their smartphones. When operating a motor vehicle, be on the lookout for pedestrians crossing the street. It helps to scan the roadways ahead of time and to watch your speed to have a better chance at avoiding a crash.
