Pedestrian Hospitalized After Crash on Central Ave NE in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (February 26, 2025) – A pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Central Ave NE.

At 6:10 PM on Wednesday, February 26, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and emergency medical personnel from Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at Central Ave NE & Utah St NE.

When officers and firefighters arrived, they found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. 

Rescue 11 transported the injured individual to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Meanwhile, the driver who hit the pedestrian fled the scene.

APD blocked westbound Central Avenue between Utah and Texas while officers conducted their investigation.

By 7:10 PM, authorities confirmed that the pedestrian’s injuries were not life-threatening, and officials expected to reopen the affected traffic lanes soon.
