Woman Fatally Struck by Metropolitan Transit System Trolley near Imperial Avenue

ENCANTO, CA (November 25, 2018) – A woman was killed Sunday evening following a trolley accident near 65th Street and Imperial Avenue. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a pedestrian was struck by a Metropolitan Transit System trolley at about 10:00 PM. Events that led to the collision were not immediately available.

The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal accident and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
