Hit-and-Run Driver Fatally Struck Pedestrian in Indio

 
INDIO, CA (May 27, 2019) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run collision on 10 Freeway early Saturday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, callers reported the incident just after 1 a.m. Additionally, they cited that there was a possible body in the freeway’s slow lane.
 
Afterward, firefighters responded to the scene. They found the pedestrian in the westbound lanes of 10 Freeway between Jefferson Street and Washington Street. Emergency personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials did not disclose the name of the victim.
 
As a result of the crash, the CHP diverted westbound traffic off the freeway at Jefferson Street. In the meantime, there was no description yet of the suspect vehicle.
