Bakersfield, CA (March 9, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally injured following a Highway 178 accident yesterday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened around 3 p.m. on March 8 in east Bakersfield.

CHP said a grey Ford Mustang entering the freeway from the Union Avenue on-ramp struck the pedestrian. Officers withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of kin.
