Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Pickup in Thermal Crash on 58th Avenue

THERMAL, CA (January 25, 2019) – A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a pickup near Thermal on Wednesday, January 23.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. near 58th Avenue and Grapefruit Boulevard and a fatality was confirmed within minutes.

Authorities only described the pedestrian as an elderly person, who was struck by a Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma.

Officials temporarily closed the roads in the area during the investigation. The collision is being investigated as a possible suicide, sheriff’s officials said.
