Pedestrian Critically Injured in US 40 Accident [Independence, MO]

Independence, MO (January 5, 2025) – A pedestrian was critically injured following a US 40 accident Friday night.

It was around 8 p.m. when the traffic crash happened at East 69th Terrace.

Officers said the pedestrian was attempting to walk from the north to the south side of the roadway when a 2011 Chevy Traverse struck them.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Meanwhile, the Chevy driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
