A Male Pedestrian Critical in East Bakersfield Accident
Bakersfield, CA (March 22, 2020) – A male pedestrian was critically injured after a car accident at the intersection of Bernard Street and Mount Vernon Avenue on the Sunday evening of March 22.
The Bakersfield Police investigative reports revealed that the accident occurred after 7 p.m in the intersection of Bernard Street, the 2400 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.
According to BPD, the victim was walking across the street at the intersection when he collided with a car. The extreme impact knocked him over.
Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment of life-threatening injuries. He is currently in critical condition.
On the other hand, the driver who struck him remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers’ investigation.
Additionally, BPD confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the incident.
However, the driver was cited using a suspended driver’s license.
