Hesperia Accident on Bear Valley Road

HESPERIA, CA (August 6, 2019) – A person is in critical condition following an accident on Bear Valley Road on August 4.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 15500 block of Bear Valley Road, just east of Cypress Avenue in Hesperia. Hesperia sheriff’s deputies along with San Bernardino County Fire came to the scene.

The collision left the pedestrian with critical injuries. As a result, firefighters dispatched a helicopter Reach H325 to land on the helipad at Desert Valley Hospital.

The helicopter transported the pedestrian to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. In addition, Witness Kat Jovel revealed that the male pedestrian in his late 50’s barely breathed. However, there is no update on the victim’s condition.

Jovel added that the truck didn’t stop. “There was another truck that drove over him as he was laying in the middle lane. So my husband started redirecting traffic to other lanes as I was on the phone with police,” she added.

However, the second truck stopped and checked the pedestrian.

Authorities administered an alternate route for the eastbound traffic of Bear Balley Road to Cypress Avenue.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Hesperia station at 760-947-1500.
