SAN MARCOS, CA (September 8, 2024) – Friday night, a devastating pedestrian crash on S Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane killed 1 person.

Reports said that the incident happened at about 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of S Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane.

A 76-year-old pedestrian has died from her injuries after being hit by a car in San Marcos, authorities said Saturday.

According to a statement from the department, a white Toyota Camry, driven by a woman, was traveling south on S. Twin Oaks Valley Road when it struck a 76-year-old pedestrian.

Paramedics rushed the victim to the Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit with serious injuries, but she unfortunately passed away shortly after arriving. The driver stayed at the scene, and authorities confirmed that alcohol was not involved in the incident.

Neither the victim nor the driver has been publicly identified, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
