Horrific Pedestrian Crash on Marine Avenue Injures 1 Kills Another [Gardena, CA]

Gardena, CA (February 12, 2024) On Sunday morning, a pedestrian crash on Marine Avenue killed a 5-year-old child and injured another person.

According to the Gardena Police Department, the fatal accident happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Marine Avenue approaching Budlong Avenue.

Reports say that an eastbound vehicle turned north on Budlong and crashed into 2 pedestrians in the crosswalk. Authorities say that the driver fled the scene before officials arrived at the scene.

Officials say that both victims were crossing the crosswalk at the time of the incident, one of the victims was a child.

Authorities say that a 5-year-old child was one of the victims, and the kid was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to the hospital in unknown condition.

Police are searching for the suspect driver and vehicle who remains at large.
