EL CAJON, CA (March 15, 2023) – Monday night, a man died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 8 near W Main Street.

The incident occurred just after 8:20 p.m. on Interstate 8 near W Main Street.

According to reports, a vehicle struck a man who walked into the path of a driver. The vehicle was attempting to change lanes when the crash happened, said CHP Public Information Officer Jared Grieshaber.

Meanwhile, the authorities declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Moreover, the 44-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Thus, responders took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, Grieshaber added.

At this time, the authorities do not suspect the driver to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
