EL CENTRO, CA (April 16, 2023) – Friday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on East Even Hewes Highway injures 1 person.

The incident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Even Hewes Highway in El Centro.

According to initial reports, a man wearing all-black clothing walked across the road and was hit by a car.

Then, the driver of the car said that they failed to see the pedestrian.

As a result, the victim sustained a broken ankle and trauma to his head.

A REACH air ambulance landed on a soccer field at McGee Park. Then, they airlifted the victim to Desert Medical Center for treatment.
