AUSTIN, TX (March 6, 2025) – Wednesday night, a devastating pedestrian crash on 8800 South MoPac Expressway killed one person.

The incident happened in the 8800 block of the South MoPac Expressway service road northbound, between Davis Lane and West Slaughter Lane.

According to reports, a vehicle struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed that the pedestrian died in the crash.

Furthermore, the incident closed the northbound MoPac Expressway but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
