According to the Houston Police Department, the auto-pedestrian collision happened at about 4 a.m. on the outbound lanes of 45 Gulf Freeway.

Reports say that a man was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on the freeway. Authorities say that first responders arrived and found a man on the roadway, officials pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Officials say that a vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of the freeway and are investigating whether it was the pedestrian’s car.
