Spokane Valley, WA (September 12, 2023) On Saturday evening, a man in a wheelchair lost his life after an auto-pedestrian crash near East Sprague Avenue.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 8 p.m. near the corner of North Bannen Road.

Reports say that a man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a vehicle as the man was trying to cross the street.

First responders attempted to save the man’s life however, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies are investigating the fatal crash and do not believe impairment or speed are factors in the deadly crash.
