MODESTO, CA (January 16, 2020)—One person suffered major injuries in a pedestrian accident on Coffee Road near Ensenada Drive Saturday evening.

The crash occurred around 6:50 p.m., drawing emergency personnel to the scene.

When authorities arrived, they found a 65-year-old man with serious injuries. Paramedics reacted with haste and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities investigated the scene and canvassed the area for clues as to what occurred before the impact. Thus far, they’ve determined that the man had been crossing Coffee Road in an eastbound direction when the southbound vehicle struck him.

The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police questioning. However, no reports regarding where the fault lies were available, but the investigation continues.

Pedestrians and drivers are encouraged to be vigilant. It’s important to make eye contact with one another and to make your next move when fully certain.
