Fremont Rider Paul Neves Dies after Crashing into Truck in San Gregorio
SAN GREGORIO, CA (June 30, 2019) – A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after he crashed into a truck in unincorporated San Mateo County.
The San Mateo County coroner’s office identified the victim as Paul Neves, 35, of Fremont.
The crash took place at 3:13 p.m. on La Honda Road, about 3 miles North of the unincorporated community of La Honda.
According to reports, Neves rode his motorcycle westbound on La Honda Road. After that, he struck the hood of a truck turning eastbound on La Honda Road into a private driveway.
Neves suffered a broken leg and serious internal injuries from the impact. He was airlifted to Stanford Hospital, where he died soon after.
The truck driver was unharmed.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
