South Dean Martin Drive Accident Kills Patrick Declue of Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (April 29, 2021) – On April 19, 84-year-old Patrick Declue from Las Vegas was injured in a crash on South Dean Martin Drive.
The road accident happened just before 2 p.m. at the West Post Road intersection.
Authorities said a 1999 Dodge Grand Carravan was southbound on Dean Martin Drive. At the same time, a 2009 garbage truck was eastbound and entered a “T” intersection from a stop sign.
Subsequently, the garbage truck struck the right side of the Dodge, which then struck a barrier wall near the roadway.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Declue, whose injuries appeared to be non-fatal. However, on April 22, he died at a local hospital as a result of injuries from the crash.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office said Declue’s death was due to blunt trauma and sequale thereof, in an accident.
Meanwhile, the garbage truck driver remained at the scene and didn’t show any signs of impairment.
