Passenger Injured in Federal Boulevard Hit-and-Run Crash [San Diego, CA]

Officers Respond to Federal Boulevard Hit-and-Run Crash

San Diego, CA (January 14, 2022) –  On Thursday, a passenger sustained injuries in a Federal Boulevard hit-and-run crash.

The traffic collision happened at 4:36 a.m. in the 6000 block area.

Investigating officers said a man was riding in a 2018 Honda Accord.

Suddenly, the car’s driver crashed into parked cars and fled the scene on foot. The passenger was left in the car, where the authorities found him unresponsive.

Right away, the emergency team rushed the man to a local hospital in stable condition with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, it is unclear if the man was cooperating with the authorities in their search for the driver.

Since you cannot read the intention of the driver in front of you, don’t tailgate. Maintain some distance between your vehicle and the one ahead in order to give yourself enough response time should the vehicle ahead make a sudden turn or stop.

Let Us Prevent Accidents

Indeed, driving is essential for many in order to move about in their lives, however, it is also one of the most dangerous activities performed daily.

That is because auto accidents are a major public health threat. Traffic accidents are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.

Thus it is indeed crucial that everyone drives defensively in order to avoid traffic accidents as much as possible.

Here are some of the things that we can do to practice defensive driving:

Always drive at a controllable speed.

It is also important not to assume you know the other driver’s intention.

Be prepared to positively react to other drivers.

This one, we should never neglect. Yield at intersections, even if you have right of way.

Most importantly, stay focused on the road. Remove all distractions such as mobile phone use, unstrapped toddlers, etc.
