FM 168 Deadly Crash Results in Injuries
Castro-County, TX (November 21, 2024) – 41-year-old Celso Garcia-Chingo of Hart was fatally injured following a collision on FM 145 Wednesday evening.
It was at 6:10 p.m. on November 13 when the deadly crash happened at the intersection with FM 168.
Troopers said a 2013 Acura ILX driven by a 16-year-old teen was eastbound on FM 145. The passengers were Celso Garcia-Chingo, 24-year-old Raul Quino-Franco, and 27-year-old Joaquin Rodriguez-Sima. All the people in the vehicle were from Hart.
At the same time, a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 36-year-old Pedro Guardad of Amarillo, was southbound on FM 168 toward the intersection with FM 145.
According to the investigators, the Acura failed to yield the right of way and entered the intersection in the path of the truck, which hit the Acura on the driver’s side.
Immediately, Garcia-Chingo was rushed to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
The Acura’s teen driver, Quino-Franco, Rodriguez-Sima, and Guardad were taken to area hospitals for treatment and were released.
The authorities are investigating this Texas collision.
