PARKLAND, WA (February 24, 2018) – A hit-and-run accident with a patrol car was reported on Saturday night, on the intersection of 116th Street and Pacific Avenue.

Around 7 PM, a Pierce County deputy was patrolling in Parkland, when a Mazda ran a stop sign and struck her patrol vehicle, before fleeing from the scene.

While the female deputy was calling in the hit-and-run crash, another Washing State Patrol Trooper saw the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop him. The 62-year-old driver continued to flee, running another stop sign, before additional deputies arrived and pulled over the suspect on 116th St and A St S. He was arrested on charges of hit-and-run and eluding police, and booked into the Pierce County Jail.

Both cars sustained damages from the impact of the crash. No other information has been released by authorities at this time. It is unclear whether or not drugs and alcohol were contributing factors.
