Paramedic Injured in Ambulance Collision on Highway 154 [Santa Barbara County, CA]

Santa Barbara County, CA (April 20, 2024) – A paramedic was injured following an ambulance collision on Highway 154 early Friday morning.

It was past 4 a.m. when an ambulance was traveling south on the highway after leaving Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital. 

The ambulance was on its way to the emergency room at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital when it was side-swiped by another vehicle.

A paramedic riding the ambulance was transported in a separate ambulance due minor to moderate injuries obtained in the collision, while the two people riding the other vehicle were not hurt.

There is no information if the original patient suffered any additional injuries.

Troopers are investigating this traffic accident.
