16-Year-Old Girl Struck and Killed by Drunk Driver on 47th Street East North of Avenue South
PALMDALE, CA (February 18, 2018) – On Sunday night around 9:39 PM, a teenage girl was struck and killed by a drunk driver on 47th Street East, just north of Avenue South.
A 25-year-old male was driving northbound in a black 2015 Nissan Altima on 47th St E in the #1 lane, when he crashed into a 16-year-old girl that was crossing the street.
According to reports, the girl was crossing 47th from the west side to the east in an area that did not have a designated crosswalk. She was treated by the Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics and was transferred to Antelope Valley Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead around 11:14 PM.
47th Street East and Avenue South were closed during investigation and treatment of the victim. The driver of the Nissan was arrested for driving under the influence, and was booked at the Palmdale Station.
