Man Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Collision on Oxnard Boulevard at the Highway 101 Overpass
OXNARD, CA (February 10, 2018) – According to the Oxnard Police Department man was critically injured after being struck by a car while crossing Oxnard Boulevard at the Highway 101 overpass on Saturday at around 11:50 PM.
The major roadway is along the Esplanade Shopping Center on the south side of the highway and The Collection on the north side of H 101.
Emergency responders found the pedestrian, who they believe is in his 40’s, unconscious on the road and rushed him to a local hospital. He was reported to be in critical condition as of early Sunday morning.
Police determined that 2004 Volkswagen Jetta driving northbound on the road struck the pedestrian. The 22-year-old driver, a person from Oxnard, was interviewed and released according to authorities.
