Osama Kartam Dead in Southwest Las Vegas Crash
Spring Valley, NV (May 7, 2020)– Thursday morning, 24-year-old Osama Kartam died in a two-vehicle collision in West Russell and South Fort Apache road.
Authorities responded upon receiving crash reports at around 9:35 a.m. on May 7. Dispatched officers arrived and located two sprawled vehicles on the scene.
Reportedly, a 2015 Honda Fit was northbound on Fort Apache and approaching Russell when the driver failed to slow down and rear-ended a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan at the intersection.
As a result, the Honda had severe front-end damage with its airbags deployed. EMS personnel immediately transported the driver, now identified as Mr. Kartam, to University Medical Center in critical condition.
However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old woman driving the van sustained minor injuries. Police say she has no signs of impairment.
Furthermore, the accident recorded as the 35th traffic-related death in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.
