Major Injuries Sustained in Morning Head-On Crash in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (July 3, 2019) – One person was seriously injured following a head-on crash Wednesday morning in Cathedral City.
 
The crash happened around 7:17 a.m. on Mountain View Road, just North of Varner Road.
 
According to the CHP, a gray truck collided head-on with a gold sedan. The impact caused one of the vehicles to overturn.
 
One occupant lost an arm as a result of the crash and arriving paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital. The condition of that person was not immediately available.
 
The roadway was blocked until around 8:30 a.m. while the rescue operation was being conducted.
 
It is unknown if speed or intoxication was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
