One Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at Stony Point Road and West Sierra Avenue [COTATI, CA]

SUV and Sedan Collide on Stony Point Road in Cotati, Major Injuries Sustained

 
COTATI, CA (May 27, 2019) – One person was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Cotati.
 
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Stony Point Road and W Sierra Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Highlander and a Dodge Charger collided. One of the vehicles was carrying teens. Bystanders stopped to pull the teens outside of the car.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and took at least one patient to a hospital with major injuries.
 
The Toyota sustained major front-end damage, while the Dodge had major left side damage. Both cars were towed away from the crash site.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
 
Obeying the speed limit is critical when driving. It is always best to be a defensive driver. Always remember to look both ways when turning and be aware of other vehicles around you.
