Driver Dies after Car Plummets into Angeles National Forest
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 9, 2019) – One person died after their car crashed over a cliff in the Angeles National Forest Highway Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol officer Elizabeth Kravig said the accident was reported at about 1:40 PM at mile marker 18.87 of Angeles Forest Highway, just north of Big Tujunga Canyon Road.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department tactical paramedics arrived shortly after and immediately climbed down to the wreckage and discovered one victim.
The victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Due to the collision, the area was closed off for several hours. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time as the investigation continues.
