One Killed in Rollover Crash on Highway 166 [Maricopa, CA]

Fatal Rollover Crash Reported on Highway 166

 
MARICOPA, CA (July 3, 2019) – One person died in a rollover crash on eastbound Highway 166, Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place near the intersection of Short Road around 1:45 PM. Based on an initial report, a Toyota 4Runner sped at an undetermined speed when it drifted onto the right and turned abruptly to the left. The then crossed both lanes of the highway, struck embankment, overturned, and landed on its side.
 
The paramedics confirmed the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene. They confirmed that the victim did not wear a seat-belt and was ejected. Police did not release any information regarding the victim’s identity.
 
It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash. Officials ordered a clean-up at the scene and began their investigation. However, police did not release any other information to the public.
