Deadly Crash Involving Semi Truck on Ramon Road in Thousand Palms

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (September 10, 2019) – One person was killed following a collision with a semi truck late Tuesday evening in Thousand Palms.
 
The collision happened around 10:45 p.m. at Ramon and Roberts roads, near Varner Road.
 
According to Cal Fire, a gray Nissan Sentra went underneath the semi truck for unknown reasons. Officers arrived and found one occupant with fatal injuries.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
CHP closed westbound Ramon Road at Roberts Road while they worked on the scene.
 
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
