One Killed in Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway at Oak Flat Road [PATTERSON, CA]

Vehicle Rolls Down Embankment on 5 Freeway in Patterson

 
PATTERSON, CA (June 26, 2019) – At least one person was killed Wednesday afternoon following a rollover crash on 5 Freeway, near Oak Flat Road.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:19 p.m., along the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived just north of Oak Flat Road, about four miles from Davis Road.
 
According to an initial report, a vehicle was heading southbound when it went off the roadway, down into a 60 feet embankment, where it landed on its side.
 
Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident. A coroner was immediately notified to pick up the victim’s remains.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not available at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
