One Killed in Crash on 880 Freeway at Dixon Landing Road [MILPITAS, CA]

Deadly Evening Crash on 880 Freeway in Milpitas

 
MILPITAS, CA (June 21, 2019) – One person was killed Friday evening, following a traffic crash on 880 Freeway, near Dixon Landing Road.
 
The collision happened around 5:48 p.m., along the southbound lanes of the 880 freeway. In addition, it occurred just south of the Dixon Landing Road on-ramp, a short distance from the Fremont border.
 
Officials arrived and found a red Dodge Caravan blocking the center divider, with one person trapped inside the vehicle.
 
Emergency crews attempted to resuscitate the victim, but unsuccessful. The unidentified individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
CHP officials closed several southbound lanes of 880 Freeway until around 9:00 p.m., while they worked on the scene.
 
Further investigation of the incident is underway.
