One Killed in Crash on 605 Freeway near 5 Freeway Interchange [DOWNEY, CA]

Pickup Truck Crashes into Concrete Wall on 605 Freeway in Downey Killing One

 
DOWNEY, CA (December 19, 2019) – At least one person was killed after a pickup truck crashed into a concrete wall Thursday morning in Downey.
 
The crash happened around 8:50 a.m. on southbound 605 Freeway, just north of 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Toyota Tundra struck the center divider wall of the freeway connector. The impact caused damage on the light pole near the area.
 
At least one occupant suffered major injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital, where the individual was declared dead.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the deceased were not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
