One Killed in Car Crash on 15 Freeway near Highway 138 [PHELAN, CA]

Early Morning Car Accident at Cajon Pass Turns Deadly

 
PHELAN, CA (August 1, 2019) – One person was killed Thursday morning following a car crash on 15 Freeway, near Highway 138.
 
The fatal crash took place at 12:13 a.m. on southbound 15 Freeway, just North of Highway 138. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
 
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a blue Toyota Yaris on the right shoulder. Debris from crash were strewn throughout the lanes and one fatality was reported as a result of the accident.
 
A coroner was also immediately dispatched to pick up the victim’s remains.
 
Furthermore, another patient was reportedly bleeding from the nose and complained of pain to the head. Paramedics took the individual to a hospital for proper treatment and further evaluation.
 
Traffic near the crash site was closed for a brief time while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed. However, the surrounding roadway has since reopened to traffic.
 
No identifying information has been released at this time and the cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Further investigation is still currently underway.
