One Killed in Head-On Crash on Howe Avenue [Sacramento, CA]

Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Howe Avenue

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 26, 2019) – One person died in a head-on crash on Howe Avenue on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near American River Drive at approximately 3:40 PM. Based on a report, a Volvo drove the wrong-way on Howe Avenue when before it crashed head-on with a Toyota Prius.
 
An attending coroner pronounced the driver of the Volvo dead at the scene. The name of the victim is not yet released. Paramedics took the driver of the Prius to the hospital with serious injuries.
 
Howe Avenue between American River and Swarthmore Drives closed while a clearing operation took place in the area.
 
No further information has been released to the public as the investigation continues. Those with information related to the crash are urged to contact the Sacramento Police Department.
