Driver Hospitalized after Solo-Vehicle Collision near Iverson Road
CHUALAR, CA (September 7, 2018) – Early Friday morning, major injuries were sustained following a rollover crash on Old Stage Road. The driver’s name and place of residence was not immediately disclosed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 1:46 AM near the intersection with Iverson Road.
Officers reported that the incident took place near a sharp curve in the area. A Mercedes-Benz reportedly crashed into a tree, rolled over, and landed on its side at least 20 feet from the roadway. Power wires were seen underneath the vehicle.
The medics responded to the scene and rescued one person trapped inside it of the damaged Benz. According to an initial assessment, the victim suffered major injuries due to the impact of the collision and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Lanes of the highway were closed while clearing operations took place and preliminary investigation was performed. It is unclear whether or not drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the incident. No additional information has been released to the public at this time, as officials continue to investigate.
