Metrolink Train Involved in Collision near Tapo Street

SIMI VALLEY, CA (February 12, 2020) – One person was injured in a crash between a Metrolink train and a car near Los Angeles Avenue on Wednesday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Tapo Street on the VC Line 121 to Moorpark just after 7:00 PM.

Reports from the Ventura County Fire Department showed that the train crashed into the car stationed on the tracks at the time of the incident.

The paramedics treated the driver at the scene before transporting the victim to a local hospital. No train passengers suffered injuries.

The car sustained moderate damage, and the train service schedule faced interruption while crews cleaned up the area.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Consider the area where you are driving. Do not stop on train tracks, especially during a traffic jam. Keeping the area open will ensure you are not in the way when a train passes through. By being careful when behind the wheel, you can keep yourself and others around you safe.
