LAKE ELSINORE, CA (October 21, 2019) — One person suffered fatal injuries a pedestrian accident on Highway 74 on Saturday, October 19.
 
According to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the collision happened at around 8:48 p.m. at Riverside Drive/Highway 74 and Joy Street. However, police did not release many details regarding the crash at this time.
 
The pedestrian succumbed to sustained injuries at the scene. However, a description of the victim is not immediately available.
 
It was not reported whether the driver remained at the scene or continued driving.
 
Caltrans said that Highway 74 opened on Sunday morning. In addition, it had been closed at nearby Lincoln Street after the collision.
 
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department handles the ongoing investigation.
