One Dies, Three Airlifted in Vehicle Collision on Interstate 80 [Placer County, CA]

One Passenger Killed in Vehicle Crash on Interstate 80 at Gold Run Rest Area

 
Placer County, CA (January 01, 2021) – On Wednesday, a passenger died while three others were injured in a vehicle collision on Interstate 80.
 
The fatal crash took place at the Gold Run Rest Area on-ramp wherein a pickup truck struck a tree.
 
The responders extricated two of the victims who were still pinned in the vehicle when firefighters arrived.
 
It took them more than an hour to extricate the driver.
 
Unfortunately, one passenger died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the rescuers took airlifted the driver and two passengers to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by air ambulance. Their status is not known.
