San Luis Obispo, CA (December 3, 2020) – On Thursday, a 43-year-old female transient died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101.
 
Moreover, the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman, was identified as 43-year-old Michael Zavala.
 
The fatal crash happened at about 6 a.m. at the Prado Road offramp.
 
When officers arrived, they found the victim lying on Highway 101 in dense fog. Also, they located debris on the highway and the traffic was backing up.
 
Additionally, Zavala is said to have been driving a Chevrolet pickup truck, just north of Los Osos Valley Road.
 
Authorities closed the Prado Road northbound onramp to Highway 101. Similarly, they diverted traffic to alternative routes.
