One Fatally Hurt in Lakewood Pedestrian Crash on Candlewood Street

 
LAKEWOOD, CA (August 12, 2019) – One person suffered fatal injuries after a pedestrian collision on Candlewood Street on Thursday, August 8.
 
Just before 11:00 pm LACO Fire responded to a pedestrian collision at the intersection of Candlewood Street and Paramount Boulevard.
 
First arriving units from the LASD found the female victim down in the street unconscious. They tried to administer aid however she succumbed to her injuries.
 
The driver who was active on the Lyft ride-share platform at the time said he was on his way to pick up a passenger when the crash occurred.
 
He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The accident does not appear to be DUI related, however, distracted driving with the Lyft app could have played a role.
 
Los Angeles Sheriffs are investigating the incident.
