One Killed, Gladys Guevara Hurt after Crestline Motorcycle Crash
CRESTLINE, CA (May 1, 2019) — A rider died following a motorcycle accident in Crestline on Saturday, April 20.
California Highway Patrol Officers and San Bernardino County Firefighters rushed to a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on Highway 18 near Crest Forest Drive.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a white 2015 Ducati 1299 motorcycle with two people down in the roadway.
According to a CHP news release, the Ducati traveled northbound in the no. 2 lane at an unknown speed. Then the driver tried to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway when for undetermined reasons, he lost control of the bike. The impact of the incident caused both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle, officials stated.
The driver, a 38-year-old male from San Bernardino CA died at the scene. His 29-year-old female passenger, Gladys Guevara, of Colton CA, suffered critical injuries. Paramedics transported her by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The identity of the deceased rider is being withheld pending family notification.
It’s unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in the collision. CHP Officer Nitto is investigating the accident.
