25-Year-Old Omar Garcia Apprehended in Over-Speed Driving on D Street

Livingston, CA (January 22, 2021) – On Thursday, authorities arrested 25-year-old Omar Garcia of Livingston for over-speed driving on D Street.

CHP Officer Eric Zuniga said the pursuit began after 11:30 a.m. in Stockton. Apparently, authorities attempted to stop a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse for speeding.

However, the pursuit was canceled due to Garcia driving erratically in heavy traffic.

Later, Modesto area CHP officers spotted the vehicle moving at a fast speed and attempted to apprehend the vehicle. But Garcia failed to yield, so authorities used spike strips to stop the vehicle in the Turlock area.

At last, the vehicle pulled over but took off again.

Moreover, Garcia continued traveling southbound on Highway 99 and into Livingston. Again, spikes strips were used again before an officer performed a PIT maneuver.

Finally, the vehicle stopped at the intersection of D Street and 7th Street.

Furthermore, three of the vehicle’s four tires were damaged by the spike strips.

The authorities ordered the suspect out of the vehicle at gunpoint. However, Garcia did not comply with orders. So, they fired nonlethal bean bags to break a window.

Lastly, officers removed Garcia from the vehicle with minimal force.

Authorities took Garcia into custody at 12:47 p.m. on suspicion of felony evading and resisting arrest.

When you are behind the wheel of a vehicle, it is your responsibility to follow all driving laws. Auto accidents can be avoided if drivers are focused and aware of their surroundings.
