Elder Hit, Killed by Car in Olympia

 
OLYMPIA, WA (December 19, 2018) – An elderly pedestrian perished Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle on Fones Road Southeast near Pacific Avenue Southeast.
 
The road was shut down for nearly four hours while police investigated the fatal crash that occurred around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
 
The man was hit by a northbound vehicle on Fones Road Southeast at the Woodland Trail Crossing and died at the scene. The driver involved stayed on site and was not believed to be impaired. Police are, however, trying to determine whether the victim was standing or crossing the road at the time.
