Officer Injured in East Montecito Street Collision [Santa Barbara, CA]

Santa Barbara, CA (December 7, 2023) – A Santa Barbara Police Department parking enforcement officer was injured in an East Montecito Street collision Wednesday.

It was about 10:30 a.m. on December 6 when the collision happened at the intersection with North Milpas Street involving a white vehicle and a Santa Barbara Police Department parking enforcement vehicle.

Investigators said both vehicles were southbound on North Milpas Street toward East Montecito Street. 

The white vehicle was traveling in the left lane and the parking enforcement officer’s vehicle was in the right lane.

The white vehicle’s driver attempted to turn right onto East Montecito Street from the left lane. However, the vehicle collided with the parking enforcement officer’s vehicle. The officer’s vehicle rolled over.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed the parking enforcement officer to Cottage Hospital Emergency Room for medical treatment.

Authorities are still investigating this traffic accident.
