Injuries Reported in Rowlett Auto Accident on Carmack Street and Main Street
ROWLETT, TX (January 25, 2024) – Sunday morning, Officer David Herrera was arrested after DUI crash on Carmack Street and Main Street.
The incident happened at 5:15 a.m. on Carmack Street and Main Street in Mesquite.
According to reports, the off-duty Rowlett police officer failed to yield at a stop sign. Then, his vehicle crashed into another vehicle.
Eventually, his car hit an electric pole and knocked it over.
As a result, the officer is facing a driving while intoxicated charge.
Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed any update on the second driver. Meanwhile, the officer received treatment and was later released.
Due to the incident, the officer is on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
