1 Dead in Fresno County Rollover Accident on Jensen Avenue and Del Rey Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 18, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Ofelia Santana died in a tragic single-vehicle crash on Jensen Avenue and Del Rey Avenue.

The incident happened in the area of Jensen Avenue and Del Rey Avenue, west of Sanger.

According to reports, officers found a female passenger ejected from a Dodge Charger. Then, responders took 35-year-old Santana of Fresno to the hospital. However, she was declared dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as 45-year-old Michelle Antoinette Vega of Fresno.

They arrested Vega for DUI, manslaughter while intoxicated, and being a driver causing death while intoxicated. Officers confirmed that the fire department had to remove Vega from the car and transport her to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Officers suspect that the crash may have happened due to an unsafe turning movement.

Also, detectives are trying to determine whether alcohol and drugs played a factor in this deadly crash.
